Dr. Parker honored Dr. Lori Katz for being named District 10 Middle School Principal of the Year by the Indiana Association of School Principals. Dr. Katz expressed gratitude, crediting teachers and staff for the middle school’s success.

Notice is hereby given to taxpayers of Mt. Vernon Community School Corporation that the proper officers of Mt. Vernon Community School Corporation will conduct a public hearing on the year 2025 proposed Bus Replacement Plan pursuant to IC 20-40-18. Following the public hearing, the proper officers of Mt. Vernon Community School Corporation may adopt the proposed plan as presented or with revisions.

Taxpayers are invited to attend the meeting for a detailed explanation of the plan and to exercise their rights to be heard on the proposed plan.

Dr. Parker reviewed the B200 policy for the second reading and final approval. The update adds a requirement for the board to review the policy annually at the reorganization meeting per the current boards request. Mrs Nielsen made a motion to approve B200 updates. Mrs Britt seconded the motion. Motion carried 5-0.

Mr Elkins asked for approval of Resolutions 2026-11 amd 2026-12 regarding the funds which public hearings were held for. Mr Gray made a motion to approve Resolutions 2026-11 and 2026-12. Mrs Nielsen second the motion. Motion carried 5-0.
Resolution 2026-13
Minutes
Mr Elkins discussed the information on the Homestead Credit. This waiver enables the district to offset revenue loss caused by property tax caps and the homestead credit. This will help support the underfunded operation fund. Mr Elkins asked for approval. Mrs. Freeman made a motion to approve Resolution 2026-13. Mrs. Gray seconded the motion. Motion carried 5-0.

Fortville RDC - Mrs. Stacy Nielsen shared there was no meeting last month and this months meeting is only to approve invoices.
Cumberland RDC - Mrs. Kellie Freeman stated they did not meet last month; a full meeting is scheduled for later in July 2026.
Hancock Co. RDC - Mr. Chad Gray - discussed the roundabout closure at 700 and 300 are expected; discussions continue on ensuring the 300 North surface can support increased traffic.
McCordsville RDC - Mrs. Shannon Walls shared they approved a Resolution for phase 2 of McCords square development. The railroad tracks at 600 are being closed and redone awaiting the time frame.
MVEF - Mrs. Meghan Britt updated that new board members were approved at the last meeting; the next meeting is Monday, July 20, 2026.
