Mt. Vernon Board of School Trustees to Ratify New Collective Bargaining Agreement

Mrs. Freeman led everyone in the Pledge of Allegiance.

The meeting was called to order at 5:59 p.m.

Mr. Gray made a motion to adopt the agenda a presented.  Mr. Edwards seconded, and the motion carried 4-0.

There were no public comments.

Mr. Smedley asked the board to approve ratification of the New Collective Bargaining Agreement between The Board of School Trustees of the Mt. Vernon Community School Corporation and the Mt. Vernon Classroom Teachers' Association, previously presented.  He thanked CTA President Desiray Scalf and her negotiation team for their work on this agreement.  Mr. Edwards made a motion to approve the Ratification of the New Collective Bargaining Agreement.  Mr. May seconded.  Mrs. Freeman added her thanks to Mr. Smedley and his team, Ms. Scalf and her team and the teachers on the team who volunteered their time to come to an agreement.  The motion carried 4-0. 

Mr. Smedley asked for approval of the recommendation for Pay Raises for Classified Staff and Administrators.  The recommendation includes a 6% raise in pay for eligible classified staff employee groups and a 5.5% raise in salary for all school and district level administrators.

Mr. May made a motion to approve  the Pay Raise for Classified Staff and Administrators.  Mr. Edwards seconded, and the motion carried 4-0.

Mr. May made a motion to adjourn at 6:04 p.m.  Mr. Gray seconded, and the motion carried 4-0.
